Pacific AG Rentals Makes Farming More Efficient With TN360 ACM

Challenge:

Founded in 2001 with a single tractor, Pacific AG Rentals is now a privately owned equipment rental company with more than 200 employees and over 3,000 machines servicing farms from California to New Mexico. Its fleet ranges from a recently purchased million‑dollar tractor to mobile pumps that move water, on‑road trucks that carry produce, and newer robotics equipped with cameras and AI. Managing equipment of that variety, complexity, and scale is a major logistical challenge. In Salinas, where farmers rotate crops two to three times a year and operate on thin margins, planning and flexibility are critical. Farmers rely on Pacific AG to supply the right mix of equipment during peak cycles. That means Pacific AG must maintain real‑time visibility into location and usage, monitor rentals against agreements to catch overages and ensure accurate billing, connect uptime data to accounting practices, and guard against rising theft. For example, five machines were stolen in a single month, totaling $1.25 million.

We’re starting to understand the massive cost savings by using our equipment more efficiently.

Solution:

Teletrac Navman’s TN360 Asset & Construction Management solution (ACM), gives Pacific AG real‑time visibility into the location, utilization, and health of its 3,000+ machines. TN360 ACM sends automated alerts for rental irregularities, inspection issues, and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and recover rental revenue. The platform integrates with third-party accounting systems to sync rental records, usage hours, and error codes for accurate billing and streamlined maintenance workflows; it even supports tracking Pacific AG’s smaller rentals like porta-potties. Teletrac Navman is also rolling out a customer portal so farmers can access rental and fleet data in real time. Ultimately, these capabilities increase uptime, improve billing accuracy, and drive cost savings for Pacific AG and its customers.

Results:

Pacific AG Rentals has seen significant benefits with TN360 ACM:

  1. Recovered three stolen machines valued at $300 thousand.
  2. Real-time visibility into all assets, including utilization and efficiency.
  3. TN360 ACM recovers previously inaccessible revenue by detecting rental overages in real time and enabling immediate billing.
  4. Direct cost savings from aligning usage with depreciation and streamlining processes.
  5. Stronger customer relationships through improved maintenance (more uptime) and data-driven decision support, enabling Pacific AG to pass savings on to farmers.
